What Needs To Be Done Before Writing An Ad Script

Updated: May 25, 2022

Have you ever wondered why some ad scripts are so effective?

Hey, I'm Yukta, and I'm here to talk about the importance of good research before you write an ad script.

Before you write the concepts for a brand or product, research is very important step. It helps you know what the brand is, know the market value and the audience of the brand, what type of consumers uses this product, growth of the product. All these factors help in writing an ad script.

But above all this, the most important part is client brief. Take a thorough note of what the client wants. How they want to portray their product. Without research, your ad script may not hit the right spot, may not target the right audience. For example: A cement brand had a model in bikini walking towards the camera with brand’s tagline in voice over. Nothing else. This is an example of very bad scripting. The script has missed out on their target audience and has gone completely off track with their message.

All these factors help inform you about your client's expectations for their ad campaign, which will help you write more effective scripts.

But even more than all of that, there's one thing that is most important: your client's brief. Make sure you take notes of everything they want from their advertising campaign before beginning work on any script or concept!

That's why I always recommend taking some time before writing an ad script to research your market. Here are some things you might want to consider:

-Who is the target audience for this product?

-What kind of people use this product?

-What other brands do those people use?

-What else do these people like or dislike? If there are any specific details they want included in their ad scripts (like certain words or phrases), make note of those too!

-Make sure you are always aware of the trends that are going on. Applying correct current trends in the script will create a good impact!

Your ad script must make believe audience in the product and how they can use it!
